Mailed Fist

Who are the Mailed Fist Wargames Group?

We meet every 2nd and 4th Sunday each month from 11am – 5pm.

A wide variety of games are played from Ancients to 40k, American & English (un)Civil Wars to the Napoleonic era, World Wars One and Two and beyond.

You don’t need your own army to be able to play, just come along and join in any of the games that are running.

To give you a little more information, we’ve answered a couple of questions that you may be asking yourself…

What is wargaming?

Simulating military history using scale models to represent armies (a bit like chess or draughts)

Are you frustrated war-mongers?

No fortunately we’re not. We just like military history. We have no desire to inflict pain, suffering or my point of view on any individual regardless of nationality, race, religious / moral beliefs or sexual orientation.

How do you wargame?

The basics of wargaming involve moving metal or plastic figures around on a board covered with model trees, hills, roads, rivers and buildings according to a set of rules. The rules basically govern how far the figures can move, when they can fight and whether they run away. We like rules that are simple, fast, fun and don’t involve any writing or record keeping. Rules reflect a gamer’s personality
