5th Sunday Tabletop Miniature Wargaming for all

East Manchester Historical Games welcomes you to their 5th Sunday Tabletop Miniature Wargaming session (as it’s on the few Fifth Sundays in the year!) at their Wargaming building in Godley, Hyde near Manchester. This is open to all and runs from 11am until 5pm.

You can bring your own game to play & use our tables or join in a game that is already running; if you want to arrange a specific game, then give Sam a call in advance to see if it can be arranged.

Warhammer, 40K, Epic, Flames of War, Bolt Action & other rule sets are played on a regular basis, so why not come along & roll some dice!

Anyone over the age of 12 is welcome, ‘though those between 12 & 18 should be accompanied by an adult (hey, why not bring your mum or dad & beat them??)

Contact Sam (07817 156012) for details.

Cost is £5 per person.

Tabletop Wargaming in Tameside with the Mailed Fist Wargames Group @ EMHG Centre
Aug 13 @ 11:00 am – 5:00 pm

Tabletop Wargaming in Tameside

If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to command a tank or infantry company in battle, to ride with the cavalry against the Emporer Napoleon’s “Grand Armee”, to fly a WW1 Biplane, a WW2 Spitfire or a spacecraft in outer space or find out why the English & American Civil Wars weren’t very civil, why not pop along and join us for the day?

We are a long established wargameTabletop Miniature Wargaming: Mailed Fist Wargames Groups club who meet on the 2nd & 4th Sunday of every month from 11am – 5pm. We use a wide range of miniature wargames rules including Flames of War, Bolt Action, Blitzkreig Commander, Cold War Commander, SAGA, DBA, WAB, 40K, Warhammer, Field of Glory and many more including some developed “in house”

We are always open to new members and we are sure you will find a game to join in or there will be someone playing your type of game.

Whilst many of our members have extensive miniature armies, owning your own figures is not necessary to join in with one of our games; you don’t even need to have played before, we’ll help you with the rules and explanations of what is going on.

Car Parking

Car parking spaces are limited; parked reasonably carefully, it is possible to fit 7 cars onto the driveway in front of the building. Further parking is available on

  • High Street (before the corner shop),
  • Sheffield Road (turn left past the church)
  • On Highbank Works (on Halton Street opposite the end of High Street – evening & weekends only)

Please DO NOT park on Knivton Street, itself

Food and drink locally available

Tea & Coffee is generally available within the building!

Snacks ranging from chocolate to hot bacon muffins are available from our favourite corner shop – Ashbank Stores – open most days from 10am (or earlier!) till late. Gaynor & William also sell milk & other drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) including tea & coffee if you can’t be bothered to brew your own!

Alternatively, you can walk further afield to Morrisons in Hyde.

There are also a number of local Chinese Chippys (Au Yeung on Mottram Road is pretty good).

Finally, between Au Yeung and Morrisons, you’ll find the Sportsman Pub which is CAMRA listed serving beers from the Rossendale Brewery as well as others. In addition, they do a cracking Pizza and have a Cuban Restaurant upstairs
